Architectural
Building Systems, Inc. recently completed some high profile
jobs in the Hartford area. A sampling of these projects include:
Tenant:ABB, Inc.
Windsor, CT
Architect: Ambrose Associates
Hartford, CT
Description: ABB, Inc. needed more floor space to accommodate
their expanding operations. ABB, familiar with the quality of
work that has become the trademark of Architectural Building
Systems, utilized ABS to build out a vacant 1,713s.f. space
on the third floor of their building. Since the tenant spaces
surrounding the new space were all occupied, building out the
space during normal working hours required special consideration
to prevent disruption to other businesses. The six week project
went smoothly and was completed on schedule and within budget.
Tenant:AIG Starr Tech
Hartford, CT
Architect: Corgan Associates
New York, New York
Description: This project was a 5713s.f. corporate office build-out
in one of Hartford's most prominent buildings. Adherence to the
client's strict time line, while managing within the building's
rules and regulations for construction, were critical to the
success of the project. Working as team with the architect, engineer,
and building management company, Architectural Building Systems overcame
existing - condition obstacles and changes in the work and completed
the project on time. The project included custom millwork, adding
new mechanical zones, re-zoning the existing system, and custom
flooring.
Owner: Greater Harford Jewish Community Center
West Hartford, CT
Design: Advent Design
West Hartford, CT
Description: The GHJCC was planning on shutting down their swimming
pool for one week to do some routine maintenance. During the
one week shut down, they wanted Architectural Building Systems to
upgrade the men's and ladies locker facilities by reconstructing
some offices, installing custom millwork, new sinks and faucets,
and overhauling the finishes throughout. The new finishes included
vinyl wallcovering and Polymix paint.
The schedule was very aggressive, and required intricate coordination
with our construction team and subcontractors. As required, the
locker rooms were back in operation within the allotted time
constraints.
